Overall Personality: Arizona is, by no means, a soft hearted dog. She's been through to much in her puphood for that to be true, but she certainly does have spirit. It's the one thing that was never driven from her, and it's what keeps her going even to this day. It's what makes her happy or sad, or maybe even a little bit of a spitfire at times. It normally depends on who it is she's speaking to half the time. Either way though, if anyone knows her well enough, then they know that this girl has quite the personality. She certainly isn't a pushover of any kind. In fact, she's more the kind to get up in your face and tell you what's on your mind if she thinks you need to hear it. But normally that only happens if she doesn't like you all to much, or if she really does have the feeling that she needs to speak out. Either way, Arizona can be a force to be reckoned with if the occasion ever arises. Now, if you're first meeting her then you aren't going to see this side of her right off the bat. The timid side of her never really went away, and so she can be rather shy when you first meet her. Well, she's more just the quite type more than anything. She won't really say much to you if she doesn't trust you. That's a whole other side of her altogether though. Trust comes slowly with Arizona, but once you earn it you're as good as gold with this girl. She's as loyal a friend as can be, and she'll certainly be one to stand with you through the end of things. Now, of course this loyalty can disappear just as quickly as you can earn it, because one wrong move and believe me -- you're going to end up in the dog house for a long, long time. History: Arizona's life was never something of fairy tale. Even from the very first day she was born things weren't exactly easy. She was born on a breeding farm along with six other pups in her litter, although she never knew any of them. The moment she opened her eyes for the first time she was taken from her mother, and from that moment on all she knew was people. She was sold rather quickly once she turned just past six months, moving on to a pet shop in a matter of days. It took about a month after that before Arizona was adopted by a man who, at the time, was probably in his early forties. Anyways, the man adopted the young pup and brought her home. At that moment it seemed as if things were going to turn out just fine -- until the man's son came into the picture. The kid was never someone nice, and there was no exception for little Arizona. He kicked her and terrorized the little thing, but it was only when his father wasn't around. This went on for months upon months, and she merely only took this treatment in secret. Up until she turned one anyways. Arizona struck out, biting the boy and leaving a rather harsh gash on his arm. It was after this that the man's father sold her back to the pet shop. Arizona remained there for a couple months, but no one ever adopted her since, by this point, she had become so weary of any human due to her treatment that she would snap at anyone who tried to be friendly to her. This in turn caused her to become sent to the shelter, and it was there that she was nearly sent to the needle. But that was before Jessie came into her life. The woman was so kind, and so very sweet. In fact, it was enough to let her get close to Arizona. Soon after their meeting the woman adopted the young dog, and in turn it slowly renewed Arizona's faith in humans. She remained quite happy with Jessie at that point, and it was because of her sweet treatment that her own sweet and kind demeanor returned. It wasn't long after she turned two that the dogs rose up and went against the humans. Jessie had been terrified, and truthfully, so had Arizona. But, unlike many of the dogs she had come to know over the time spent with Jessie, she didn't revolt. She remained true to her human, and so it was that she followed her down below the city when the time came to flee. She's been down there with them ever since, although she's become a bit of a loner now. She never joined the pack of dogs that formed in the sewers below, but she does remain to protect the humans till her last dying day. Role-playing Sample: "Sweep the brush...Sweep..." Elizabeth muttered softly to herself as she moved her hand across the canvas, careful with the movement of her brush. The colors of midnight and magenta mixed together in a rather nice combination, blending into a warm tone as she turned away, moving away for a few moments as she turned to get another color. Coming back to the canvas, Elizabeth raised her brush again and began to paint once again when she stopped briefly. "God... I sound so crazy..." She said as she shook her head at herself. She didn't it let the moment faze her though, and soon she was painting away again as her thoughts consumed her as the painting took her to some far away place. It was about an our or so afterwards that she finally stopped, and by the point she had painted a very beautiful backdrop. The tall mountains which had become a part of her picture were a deep hue, a beautiful color as the imaginary sunset which was occurring behind the peaks cast shadows down into the small valley below. It almost could have passed for a scene straight out of a movie, if it was a real sight anyways. Elizabeth smiled. "Seems I haven't lost my touch after all....my teacher has no idea what she was saying the other day." It was a moment longer before she smiled and tilted her head ever so slightly almost as if she were congratulating herself on the work. But it was only a moment, and shortly thereafter she felt as though she needed a good breath of air. She had been in her studio for a good part of the day, after all. Grabbing her scarf and her knit wool hat she slipped out the door, her coat already slipping on as she buried her hands into her pockets. It was such a normal feeling, and it was then she knew where she wanted to go. Striding through the streets with purpose, it took her a matter of minutes to get where she wanted to be -- the bridge. Well, it wasn't really anything to special to any passing eye, but for as long as she could remember this had been the place her mother had always brought her when she herself had been upset. Elizabeth often supposed that the trait had carried down to her, although it was more a habit than anything else. Regardless of that fact though, she still loved coming here to this bridge in the little park. It was certainly a good way to relax for her, and as she leaned against the railing of the bridge she let her eyes close, a deep breath slowly coming from her as she forgot the rest of the day, even if it was only for a moment. |
