sooo, i had an idea. but first, a little backstory.
when the Scarlet Forest Pack reaches the five member mark (including the alpha to save a bit of time), they will have their first pack hunt. then, every two weeks or so from then they will have another. doing so will allow the pack to bond, keep members active, and even allow for dominance disputes to be settled over food.
obviously, the wolves will need something to chase.
of course, i could very easily roleplay the prey myself, or everyone in the thread could take a bit of control of the NPC deer, boar, or whatever it is they are hunting, but that wouldn't be very fun, now would it? this is where you come in.
i am offering you a chance to "play the prey" hunt. i have asked Leia if it okay for a member to play the prey animal for these hunts and she said yes, so don't worry about permissions.
there will be one member to play the prey per hunt, and i would prefer that member change each hunt, just to stay fair and keep our wolves on their toes. the member who volunteers to play the prey will get to choose what it is (can be anything that lives in a forest, though we definitely prefer something large like boar, deer, or even cougar), and has control over it during the thread just like they would a character. the prey will die in the end, of course, but that doesn't mean they can't put up a good fight!
the first pack hunt won't happen until the Scarlet Pack gains one more member (it is currently at four), but i figured that the sooner i put this up, the sooner the hunt thread could be posted once that fifth member appears.
also, i figure that the hunt thread will start with the wolves gathering and readying for the hunt, then Zealot (the alpha female) leading them into the forest. at which point the member playing the prey animal will post, and the pack will have to scout them out, chase them, and bring them down.
much fun for everyone! any suggestions, comments, or concerns are most than welcome! |

yay! :D if anyone else shows interest before the pack gets the fifth member and the hunt thread is set up, i'll do a raffle to keep it fair. is that alright with you, rebel? |

Yep, I thought by the way you wrote it, though, you would have different people play the prey in different threads. Either way, I'm okay.

that's exactly what i meant xD this thread would be you, if no one else shows interest in playing the prey for it before it is started. if someone does show interest, then i'd do a raffle, dice roll, coin flip, etc. to be fair in who actually gets to play it for this thread. |

Hmm, I would like to try my hand at this, it sounds quite fun! Also because this is my third week of school, do not mind raffling I really am quite content to go last or after whomever else replies.
Would it be possible for them to be chasing a family? That would be interesting to say at the least.

it would be very interesting indeed for them to chase a family... i could find that very amusing >3 yes, that shall be an option.
once we get our fifth member i'll do a coin flip or dice roll to decide who will do it for this thread.
i'm so excited xD i really wish i could hurry up and get that member and have the thread already =P |

I'm not gonna lie, I'm actually super stoked for this idea. It's so much better than npc'ing it, and it really gives hunting a whole new perspective. Like instead of being like "yeah, yeah, we'll just get prey, w/e" it's suddenly the fact that our wolves could be injured, or come up empty-handed. Idk. I like the idea a lot =]

-raises hand- What if we made a separate account for the 'kill' and made the password easy for all who want to play the fresh kill? Something like lolfreshkill or something. shot
Also, something that does not correspond to that, if it is a family would only one person play all of the members or would a handful? I think it would be fun either way, really.

ALBA. omd. i think i might love you for that suggestion <333 i talked it over with Leia and she gave me the go ahead. however, i have to say that, since i will be giving the login information to whomever is playing the prey at the time, i would dearly hope that no one would use it for evil... in the case that such a thing happens, the account will be removed promptly and permanently. thank you very very much for suggesting this <33 |

something specific for the Scarlet Forest Pack. to expand it to other packs would be... uhm... dangerous? i say that because the account, if given to a bunch of people, could be used for evil... maybe if other pack leaders really want to, we can work it out. my only concern is that risk that something bad might happen, ya know? |

Ah, I see. Couldn't you always restrict stuff? Like, give it it's own user group or something and limit the stuff it can do.
